Preggo Pictures by Request

So i haven't put any pictures up of my pregnancy on here because to tell you the truth, seeing pictures of me getting fat and chubby, aren't really my favorite things to look at... BUT, I can say it is cool looking at how much I really have grown from early on in the pregnancy until now. I don't notice the change as much since I see my belly every day, but looking at some of the pictures has shown how much my little girl really has grown... Here you are for all you out there that have been bugging me for them :)

Your Highness Bauer

This Halloween Bauer was a King. He took on the role very seriously. He knew that it was his job to make everyone who came to his castle feel welcome and leave satisfied with the candy they received. Here are some pictures of my handsome King!

Funny Halloween story... So we had A LOT more Trick or Treaters than we thought we would get. We started getting kids around 6:00 and by 7:30, we were running low on our candy supply. When I was down to about 5 pieces left, I saw a whole herd of kids coming toward our house. I told Chris to hurry and find something to give them. He found a bag of mini candy bars that had just been sitting in our pantry. So i quickly grabbed the bag from him and started passing it out. We had enough to get through the rush of kids and when they were gone, we shut our door and turned out our lights... Well, I put my hand in the bag to pull out a piece of candy to eat myself. When I pulled out a piece, this is what I saw...

I couldn't stop laughing... Over 20 kids in our neighborhood are going to go home, check their candy, and wonder what cheap skates gave them 6 month old wedding candy on Halloween! Hopefully they won't know it was us... A special thanks to Patrice and James for saving Halloween with their awesome wedding candy! I know it will be a Halloween treat many kids will never forget!

Bauer's Fall Pictures :)

Fall has finally arrived!!! The trees are changing colors, we are having high temperatures in the low 60's and our neighborhood is looking very festive. Our next door neighbors have decorated their front porch with fall leaves, pumpkins, flowers and hay bales. Of course, I had to take a few pictures of my baby boy! He wasn't very happy and kept trying to escape, but we got some cute pictures! Isn't he just too cute???

The Rocking Chair!!!

A long while back I had mentioned to Chris that I wanted a rocking chair someday. Well, he loves to challenge himself when it comes to woodworking projects, so he decided to take on the task... Here are some pictures of his beautiful work!

It started as just long blocks of wood (he had already cut the wood when i took this, i forgot to take a picture of them long and skinny).

Then he glued them together and used a sander to make the seat...

Added front legs...

And then the back legs...

Put on the arm rests...

Then came the head rest and back slats...

Then the rockers...

Then the FINAL PRODUCT!!! It is GORGEOUS!!!

I can't wait until our little girl gets here and I can rock her in the chair made with love by her father! What an amazing heirloom! I am so proud of Chris and his talent in woodworking! I love you Chris and thank you for all the time you put into this amazing gift! You truly are talented and thoughtful!

Anyone for Grilled Cheese???

So cooking is not my strongest talent. I have gotten better over the years, but there are still things (seemingly really easy to make things) that I should know how to make, but don't. I grew up eating grilled cheese sandwiches. My mom would make them, I would eat them, that was it. Well, a few months ago, Chris said he wanted me to make him a grilled cheese sandwich. I told him I wasn't quite sure how to make it, but if he told me how, I would give it a shot. So, here is my first attempt...

Yes, the picture says it all.

A few days later I tried again. And this is what I got...

Now, I have made grilled cheese at least 5 or 6 times and I am perfecting the entree! So, if you ever find yourself in Missouri and hungry for a grilled cheese, I'm your lady!!! :)

Summer Visitor

This summer we have gone outside many times to see a new friend who likes to visit our backyard. She eats our grass, strawberries and hanging plants. I love our new friend and hope she continues to come and visit :)

Baby, Oh Baby!

So most of you have probably already been informed, but there are some of you out there who I don't get to talk to very often. SOOO, I thought I'd inform everyone out there who actually views my blog (I know you are few, but you are VERY important!!!) that Chris and I are expecting a baby due January 19th :) We are super excited and can't wait until our baby gets here! Bauer is going to be a great big brother and can't wait either (okay, so i don't think he's going to know what hit him when the baby comes because as you can tell from my previous blog about him, he is spoiled and thinks the world revolves around him... but I'm sure he'll get used to it and will love the baby just as much as we do :)

I also have quite a few other things to blog about and will try and get to it this coming up week! Usually my life is pretty boring and i don't have much to blog about, but I think i have another 3-4 blogs yet to come, so stay tuned because this doesn't happen often! :)

PERFECT PUPPY!!!

2 years ago Chris and I moved to Kansas City after graduating from college. When we moved here, I told him we had to live somewhere that would allow us to get a puppy. So we found a duplex that allowed pets. Less than 2 months after we moved in, I told Chris I was ready to start looking for a puppy. So we went around to different pet shops and researched online to find the "type" of puppy that we would like to have. Something small, but not too small. Something that would not shed all over our house and that would be nice so when we have kids it will be okay to have around. So i did my research and found all the types of dogs that met those requirements. We hadn't really started to actually go to stores to buy, just to look to see what was out there. Then, one Sunday afternoon, Chris' mom brought over a newspaper and we saw an add for "Yorktese Puppies" for sale. A Yorktese is a Yorkie/Maltese mix. Both breeds are shedless and pretty small. So I called the people in the newspaper and we decided we would go look the next day. We brought a kennel with us (just in case we liked what we saw). We got there and they had only 2 little puppies left. They kept them outside in a big barn with a bunch of other dogs so they were really dirty, smelled like urine and just looked grungy. But of course, as soon as I saw the puppies, I just had to have one! We actually almost bought BOTH of them, but we decided to just stick with one since our place was small and they weren't house broken yet. The white one just ran around and was oblivious to us even being there. But the smaller puppy that was black, brown and tan came up to us and licked us and started to check us out. After about 5 minutes, I looked at Chris and we both knew we were leaving with that puppy. He smelled AWEFUL and his hair was so long and grown out, I'm not sure how we fell in love with him, but we did!!! We took him home that night and gave him 4 showers to get him smelling better... Here is a picture BEFORE his haircut... Still very cute though!

After he got his haircut he looked more like a pet, not a wild beast! I'm not sure how we lucked out to find the PERFECT PUPPY, but we managed to do it! I really don't think there was any other puppy out there for us! He was meant to be our buddy and he is perfect! I love every bit of him!

I love snuggling him up in a blanket when he's really tired. He runs around our backyard so much that he gets exhausted! Then he lays down and I put a blanket around him and he just stays there (normally when he's not tired, he doesn't stay put!)

I can't resist that beautiful smile! It's that cute smile that allows him to get away with anything, he's just too cute! I love you puppy! You really are the PERFECT PUPPY!!!
PS- If you ever want to come and meet him personally before you go out and buy a pet (you know, to see what a perfect puppy is like), feel free to come on out to Kansas City and visit! Bauer loves visitors and would make your stay very pleasant!
